Madame Sophie Gregoire Trudeau dazzles in our “Canada 150” gown for National Arts Centre Gala
September 17, 2017 (Ottawa, Canada) – On a night that featured a performance by internationally-renowned and Grammy-winning Canadian singer, k.d.lang, Sophie Gregoire Trudeau shone a spotlight of her own on Zarucci's all-Canadian, “Canada 150”-themed gown
Mme Trudeau, the honorary chairperson of the National Arts Centre Gala in support of the National Youth and Education Trust, took the stage on September 16th with NAC Foundation CEO, Jayne Watson

Created in honour of Canada’s 150th and based around the geometric Canada 150 maple leaf, the hand- and machine-embroidered tulle confection featured leaves, blossoms and star snowflakes.
Work on the gown started in March. The finished piece, designed with Mme Trudeau in mind, was presented to her on Canada Day.
From start to finish, designing a dress for someone as gracious, beautiful and down-to-earth as Mme Gregoire Trudeau was a dream come true. This dress is my gift to Canada on her 150th birthday and I can think of no one better to wear it than Mme Trudeau.
